Sebastopol Center for the Arts Demonstration Garden
In Sebastopol, the UC Master Gardeners of Sonoma County have refurbished an area near the front of the Sebastopol Center for the Arts on High Street. Visitors to SebARTS may find inspiration for their own gardens in this Demonstration Garden outside before heading inside to find inspiration from the art.
The Demonstration Garden provides beautiful planting ideas for home gardeners using hardy, native, and water-wise plants arranged in a simple and fire-smart design. There are both shady and sunny areas in the garden and there is year-round interest in the selected plants. Plants have also been selected to extend the positive reach of the nearby Habitat Corridor Garden supporting more birds and other pollinators, as well as providing beauty for human passersby. Here is our Demo Garden Plant List.
The garden showcases a resilient landscape and demonstrates sustainable gardening practices. If you see Master Gardeners pruning, planting, and caring for the garden, please ask your gardening questions. Master Gardeners may also be available during Art Center events to offer information about the plants in the garden, as well as fire-wise and water-wise sustainable gardening practices.
